Done and Done.

And we're done. Not as hard as we thought it would be, at least in retrospect...

The hard part was getting home. Cameron's parent's jeep died as we were on our way out of Provo. It took about 20 minutes, and they finally got it going again, and hopped on the road home. Right before we reached Bountiful, it died again. Luckily they were able to coast into a gas station (and more luckily it was next to a McDonald's and I had a coupon for a free smoothie.)

While we were waiting, there was another car with three women in it that got stuck. They had a tire with a hole in it, but couldn't figure out how to get their spare down, so Cam spent almost an hour helping and finally got it down.
Meanwhile, Cam's parent's got the car started and headed to a mechanic that our bishop told them about in Bountiful, but it turns out he retired, but they got referred to a place called triangle tire- who figured out the problem, and had us on our way in another hour.
So it only took us an extra 3 hours to get home- but hey last trip driving back from provo right?

Here's where we were the moment we realized we were unemployed college graduates.

The Beginning of the End

I just got home from my very last final ever... and realized I'm not sure what I'm going to do tonight. That's why I'm here--sharing with you a funny thing that happened to me today.

Yesterday Cam decided it was time to put our bed up on craigslist, since we're leaving in a week and we figured it would take us a few days to sell. Then while I was in a meeting at 11 today, Cam called and left a message that said, "I think I just sold our bed. They are coming to pick it up tonight."

So my bed just left.

The first in a long sequence of watching stuff go and leaving things behind on our way to our next adventure.

The Snorkel

On Saturday I had a long day of focus groups lined up, so I bid Cam farewell at 9, and told him I would be back around 3. Well, it turned out that around 11:30 I had to stop at home to get something and I found Cameron in the middle packing- he told me he had packed all the camping stuff. I told him he was so great for doing packing while I was gone. I went into the kitchen and came back just in time to see Cam stuffing a frisbee into his suitcase.

That's when the red flag went off.
Kim- "Cam, you're packing the camping stuff so I don't know what's in there aren't you? You're packing it without me so I can't throw it away aren't you?"
Cam-"...uhhh"
Kim- "open the suitcase"
Cam- "Uh-uh"

Finally I manage to convince him to open it. You'll never guess what was in there...
Exactly what it looks like... two frisbees, a tennis raquet I've never seen him use, lots and lots of rope, a camping stove and the stand he made out of a hanger, a lifetime supply of emergency blankets, his cargo net, other miscellaneous "gear" and...
Buried under everything else.

Your Right Brain is Showing

Either living with a random Kim had been rubbing off, or he doesn't get enough homework in the chemistry department... but Cam has been showing off his artistic side this week:
First Easter egg decorating
Cam's eggs (he used a birthday candle to drip wax for the spots)
And then today, he was working on his final assignment for his interior design class (he claims he only took it to fill his art GE). He looked up at me and said, "look I did a Kimmy" by which he meant made a huge mess all over the living room floor. I had to document it:
While he did a great job on the mess... I like to think that to be a true Kimmy mess it has to involve paint, buttons, and at least a little play-doh.
